Create Sumpin' Blk Boy Art Show
I challenged myself to build an entire exhibition experience in just 14 days for the Black Boy Art Show in Los Angeles.
From the identity and artwork to production, promotion, merchandising, and installation, I developed the experience from the ground up creating the wordmark, preparing 18 framed works, producing 100+ additional prints, designing promotional materials and merchandise, and planning the physical installation.
The goal was simple: put the work into the world, introduce AJWILLDESIGN to a new audience, and create a platform for meaningful connections with viewers and collectors.

Role
Creative Direction · Brand Identity · Artist · Experiential Design
14 DAYS · 18 FRAMED WORKS · 100+ PRINTS PRODUCED
FLYERED UP!
I created a series of 5 × 7 takeaways for visitors to the booth, with each card featuring two pieces from the collection. The flyers extended the visual identity beyond the exhibition space while giving visitors something tangible to take with them.

This piece is a visual meditation on creativity. The single lightbulb at the edge of the frame represents the spark of ideas that ignite the creative process, while the surrounding space suggests the many ways creativity can be expressed—inviting each viewer to discover their own point of connection.
Created as a limited-run print for the Black Boy Art Show in Los Angeles, each edition is hand-signed and numbered 1–50.
Dimensions: 16 x 20 in.

A few ideas that didn't make the cut.

The outcome
The exhibition generated strong engagement, sales, new followers, and connections with potential collectors while giving me valuable insight into how audiences responded to different pieces, formats, and price points.
Just as importantly, executing the entire experience in 14 days proved what could be accomplished by treating the exhibition as both an art show and a complete brand experience—from identity and promotion through production, installation, and audience engagement.
The lessons from the show continue to shape how I approach future exhibitions, presentation, and the growth of AJWILLDESIGN.
